We had to take a dremel tool and force the bottom of the handle open and then stick a knife in the crack and work our way up the side until the two halves split apart. Then we could replace the hose, which had split right at the base of the handle. When we put the two halves back together, we applied 3 strong rubber bands - one at the top, one at the bottom , and the thrird one over the hose and handle to keep the hose from popping back off under the pressure.
