Make sure the rifle in unloaded and action is Cocked!!! 1. Remove the magazine, trigger guard screw and fwd sling mount screw. 2. With one hand, retract the bolt about half way and with the other, push the barrel up and to the right. It should pop right out. 3. Remove the small C shaped clip on the front of the gas port. 4. There is a cross pin in the receiver that you push through. This should allow you to remove the trigger system and gas system from the barreled action. The trigger group slides backward once the pin is gone. IMPORTANT!! The Winchester 100 has a recall in effect, and Winchester strongly recommends that you do not shoot your 100 until it has been repaired. The number to call to find out if your rifle has been repaired is 1-800-852-5734. Give them the serial number and they will tell you immediately whether it has been repaired by having the firing pin replaced.
If the firing pin has not been replaced, you can send it to one of the shops listed in the phone message, and they will repair it without any charge to you. If you shoot it without the pin replaced, the bolt may not close properly and it will shoot all 4 shots like a machine gun, or it can blow out the side of the receiver.
