You unfortunately are not able to . . You can delete apps that you have downloaded to your iPhone, but not the apps that are rooted in the factory settings of the iPhone. However, there is a way of moving the original apps to another area, which gives the appearance of the original apps being removed .
If you are trying to delete an app without an x, it means that you cannot delete it. The apps that cant be deleted are the ones that came preinstalled on your iphone. In other words, apps that are preinstalled cant be deleted while apps that you install can be.

Hold the app you want to delete. Hold it for a couple seconds until all the apps on the page start jiggling. You will see a black x. Tap that and you can delete the app. You can not delete any apps that are part of the iOS software.

First thing you can do : restart the iPhone if that doesn't work: connect it to your computer and open iTunes. There you can try to do an update (if there is one). if that doesn't work either, go back to your iPhone. click twice on the home button, the multitask bar will appear and tap on one of the apps in that multitask bar. Tap it for some seconds until all apps in the bar start moving. You can now "delete" this apps from the multitask bar , this will not delete them from your iPhone ! Maybe your RAM memory is full, and then a cleanup of your multitask bar can be a solution
