The skin around it will be dry and it'll take longer to heal.
Its probably just dry skin. Clean the piercing a little less often. If it doesn't get better, you can dab some vitamin E oil on the outside of the piercing to moisturize the skin around it.
Its most likely just dry skin. Cut down your sea salt soaks if you're still doing those. The salt can be drying. Dab a little bit of vitamin E oil on the outside of your lip to moisturize it. If you still have problems with it, or dont think its dry skin, go see your piercer :)
It will dry out the skin which can lead to infection. Peroxide has also been known to damage jewelry.
DO NOT PICK IT OFF WITH ANYTHING BUT WATER. when your in the shower then put your face in the water and the crusties should come off. when not in the shower use a sea salt solution. get non iodized sea salt and a warm cup of water put a teaspoon of the sea salt in it and mix it and dip a q-tip in and lightly move the crusties from around your lip piercing. If your talking about a healing piercing this is what you should do.
Its probably dry from over-cleaning. Don't put more than a pinch of natural sea salt into a shot glass of warm water. Soak for 5 mins 2-3 times a day. If you're already doing that, cut down to 1-2 sea salt soaks. Only use antimicrobial soap once a week. You can use vitamin E oil around the piercing to help clear up the dryness.
Chlorine kills bacteria that's why it's used in pools and hot tubs, however you still need to rinse the piercing out after you have been swimming. Chlorine tends to dry the piercing out too much if left to evaporate off of the skin so just have a rinse in the shower after swimming in the pool.
Either dry skin or dried lymph. Try soaking the piercing in warm water. Then use a q-tip to gently wipe away the crust. If that doesn't work, stop cleaning the piercing so often and make sure that you aren't using too much sea salt in the water. Also, stop using soap if you're using it to clean the piercing. Its very drying :)
Beautiful Beautiful
Yes you can tan with a nose piercing, but I wouldn't recommend it. It dry your piercing out and cause "crusties".
I think clean and clear is the best try that but don't use too much of it it will dry out your skin
Yes, but be very careful because tanning can dry out a piercing. A sunburn would put stress on your skin & slow the healing of your piercing. Your skin will be distracted from healing your piercing because it is trying to recover from the sunburn as quickly as possible. A sunburn on the actual piercing itself would cause even more trauma to an already injured area. If you simply cannot live without tanning, cover the area around the piercing. You'll also need to be absolutely sure that you won't end up burned after your session, so you may want to reduce your stay in the bed just to be safe.
