As of now (Dec. 2010), there is no way to (officially) return to the old layout. The more motivated user can find a series of Greasemonkey scripts online that can have the same effect for the personal browsing experience, but ultimately, you cannot change it back.
And, down the line, every Facebook will get changed to the new layout, maybe next year.
