How do you activate an iPhone?

It is activated just like an iPod through iTunes. In most instances, the customer buys the phone and then goes home to the computer to activate the phone. The newest iPhone 3G must be activated at the AT&T store(In the U.S.).

However, there are ways to activate the phone without using iTunes - useful if you are trying to run your iPhone without a contract. For instance, on any iPhone running firmware 1.1.1 could be tricked into being activated through a bug in the web browser and emergency call system. However, this is potentially warranty-voiding and pointless if you aim to use it on contract.

Press the Sleep/wake button on top.

Or, if it's completely off, hold it for a little while.

If that doesn't work, charge it.

Believe me, whatever you say, just charge it up, don't argue about how recently you charged it.

So many people refuse to even try, it's ridiculous!

Several ways... Easiest would be with a hammer. or a big screw driver used like a chisel or a crowbar. you could always drop it from a high building and watch it open by itself... hope it helps

There are 2 small screws on th bottom of the iPhone 4 that you need to remove then the back slides open and your inside your iphone.
