Well I'm born on Feb 29 , and i celebrate it on March 1st !! ;)
But its kinda annoying and special (at the same time) to be born on Feb 29 !! :P
Then you only celebrate it every leap year!
Well, it would be more logical to celebrate it on March 1 since it's the day following February 28. But to be safe, just celebrate on both days like what I do :) In cases of New Zealand citizens, the NZ Parliament has decreed that for a birthday that falls on February the 29, and is not a leap year, the legal birth date date shall be the preceding day, the 28th. I was born on February 29th, and I celebrate my birthday on February 28th and March 1st, and every actual February 29th I have an especially big party.
For those who are born in a leap year on the 29th of February, their birthday can occur on the 29th of February only every 4 years. However, it is not true to say that they don't have a birthday every year. They celebrate it on either the 28th of February or the 1st of March in non-leap years.
Then you have 2 options A: Have a birthday every 4 years and be conidered 5 years old when your 20 B: Have your birthday on the 28th of February and have it on the 29th every leap year
A person born on the 29th of February only has an actual birthday every leap year, however, such a person still gets a year older every year, as we all do, and would normally consider the last day of February (whether it ends on the 28th or the 29th) to mark the end of another year of their life. Whether such a person would have an actual birthday celebration on the 28th of February, in a non-leap year, or would only celebrate during leap years, is really up to that person.
Yes, someone can be born on the 29th of February. Since February 29th does not come around every year, they could choose to celebrate their birthday on February 28th, or on March 1st.
Some people do because they treat their pets like children. I celebrate my cats' birthdays every year. I treat them like children.
You shouldn't. There's no logical reason to celebrate someone's birthday every single day. It makes even less sense to celebrate the birthday of a dead man every day.
If you are born on February 29th, your birthday is February 29th. 40 years later, you will be 40 years old, but your birthday will have only come around 10 times. This is why most people born on February 29th celebrate their birthday on either February 28th or March 1st.
If you are born on February 29th, you were born on Leap Year, which means that you only really have a birthday every four years. You can celebrate your birthday every 4 years with a big party, or you can celebrate every year on the 28th of February or the 1st of March. The government for the purposes of turning 16 (Driving Age), 18 (Smoking, Voting, Military Age), and 21 (Drinking Age), assigns February 28th to those born at 12:00 noon and before and March 1st to those born after 12:01 P.m.
How old are you now? You divide how old you are now by 4 and that's your age - but people on leap years usually celebrate their birthday on the last day of February or the first day of March... You are really the same age. You have just missed a few birthdays.
You would celebrate your birthday on the same day as every other year. So if you were born on the 19th of November in a leap year, then you would celebrate your birthday on the 19th of November in all other years too. The only issue is with someone who is born on the 29th of February. It is the only date in a leap year that does not occur in other years. Some people choose to celebrate their birthday on the 28th of February and some choose to celebrate on the 1st of March. It is really an individual decision.
