Triglycerides are required by body for various functions but their increase can be dangerous leading to adverse health problems like HTN, cardiac problems etc

Following are ways in which they can be reduced:

  1. Food sources- Avoid foods with high triglycerides & take necessary serving size only. Eg. Oil, ghee, butter etc.

  2. Cooking method - go for methods like steaming, baking, stewing that requires less or no oils.

  3. Exercise - daily walk for at least 30 to 40 mins & do light exercise

Under a doctor's care,

Watch your weight, especially belly fat.

Eat less bad fat - try to lower the saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol in your diet.

Drink less alcohol. Eat fish. Fish supply omega-3 fatty acids, and are quite good at lowering triglycerides. Your doctor may recommend that you take a supplement like fish or, krill oil, or flaxseed.

And exercise for at least 30 minutes per day, if your doctor says OK . . . more is better. Exercise so you're breathing rate and heart rate increase.
