In his young days at Borading school he was left by his father and didnt actually stay with or vist family just sat and read when the school was closed. Later he learned about the fun of Chritmas and a little of the giving attitude through his employer Fezziwig then when he lost his love Belle he became more money focused and hardened in his attitude to others plight, Chritmas was nothing more to him that a reason to take the money from his pocket. Following his experience with the ghosts he saw what he'd missed for so long and promised to change is ways to be a better person and keep Christmas in te manner that it should
