How can you switch your laptop on because the power button will not work as the button is pushed down too far?

I think you need to get it fixed or shove a knife under the button attucually dont do that you'll ellectrocute yourself

Or do you mean that the fuel reset light came on in your dash , you pressed the button down , and the switch did not reset ?
