The best and safest thing to do is to go and get another thread on ball or replacement barbell from any professional body piercing studio, you don't want to screw around with your tongue piercing. Get a replacement ball on as soon as possible.

well normally when people lose tha bck to their regular earring they use an eraser . I guess you could do that . & when I lost tha ball to my Bellybutton ring I jst used an eraser . So I suppose you could use it for your tongue too , but I wouldn't keep it in there too long , get a new ball asap .
