To get a girlfriend you need to be friends and I know people are like dude you can't just stay in the friend zone but truly you do atleast for a month or so. After you have a strong friendship tell her how you feel and then like a week or later to give her time to think about it and ask her out if she says no then your still friends if she says yes then you bf/gf. Now keepingthem isn't as hard what my boyfriend dose is in the middle of class (this works if you go to the same school ) he would give me notes that say I still love you or something like that on them. Also you can text her love notes this just lets them know that you still like her and it makes her feel good about herself. You can also hold hands at a football game or in the school halls this let's her know our not embarrassed to hold her hand (applies to middle schoolers). Finnaly help her with her insecurities by telling her she's pretty or telling her not to change anything about her because just so perfect the way she is. One last imporatant thing DON'T BE A JERK girls hate it when their boyfriend is a jerk to them and she WILL dump you so DON'T BE A JERK! hope this helped
