Yes character and role have differences between of many types, character is related to your personality, and role is related to your performance, when you born by taking that major thing with you it is called character which becomes in your possession how to use it ,whereas the role has to make by your performance, what your have to do,to proves yourself the master of a role.

Character is related to your personality shows your behavior, your nature ,your sentiments and emotions.Role is related to your performance ,shows skills ability and art.

Character is always remember able even it is bad or good, for instance a good person always remembers only to have a good character similarly a bad person always remember to have a bad character, like an evil nature d like like a good nature d,whereas role does not live evermore, finishes at a time to come a new role between your life, for instance an actor perform a role which is remembered to a fixed time until your new role comes ,when the new role comes your previous role has finished itself.

Consequently character and role are differed from each other having some types,it is only enough to understand that role could be died and character never die.

One more major difference between is that role play by your skill and art, whereas character is showed by your nature behavior and attitude.
