2011
Remember that Valve runs on the modified 'Valve time' meaning that they rarely keep to release schedules and take a long time to produce games. Valve initially said it would be released in 2008/2009 but that never happened. Now, according to computerandvideogames.com, HL2 Episode 3 will not be released this year (2010).
In the links section is HL2 Ep3 news that may interest you along with links to art of the game. but rumour has it that half-life 3 is coming instead of half life 2 episode 3,
I understand your plight, im also a valve fan and their is nothing more satifying thatn headcrab sniping to windup an afternoon :P!
It is coming out (so says valve) but it may not be for a few years. From their official explaination their being very secretive over it in order to perfect the videogame.
Thanks.
Nobody really knows, but Valve has Announced they're announcing something with a "3" in it at E3 2012.
There is a Half Life 2 Episode 3 coming in 2012.

You can't, but Half Life 2 Episode 3 supposedly has it.

When it's done.
Episode 3 will be revealed when it is ready.
Half life episode 3 will be realsed when we make the rest of number 2 games like hl2 portal 2 dota 2 and so on so when we make 3 you know....
Yes, but it is currently under development.
Well, valve said that it would come out on 2008/2009, and that never happend. So instead of making a half life 2 episode three, they planned on making a half life 3.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two was supposed to be released on October 9 2007 for Xbox360, Playstation 3 and PC. The development team that worked on Half-Life 2: Episode One was working simultaneously with the team that worked on Half-Life 2: Episode Two so when they were using the same program to develop it, they could fix any bugs that were to appear on each other's progress. Half-Life 2: Episode Two was released for PC and Xbox 360 on October 9 2007 as Valve anounced, but the team that was working on the game for Playstation 3 was working in the UK so they had some issues communicating with the other teams in the US, and so, the release for Half-Life 2: Episode Two for Playstation 3 was delayed a few more months than it should have.
Valve has not mentioned a release date or what platforms it will be available for.
As long as the Half-Life games makes Valve some money, they won't change a winning recipe. So, there will almost for sure be another Half-Life game. yes the first half life was a great success and so where the expansion packs for the PC. The sequel game Half life 2 has also been a huge success and so have ep 1 and ep 2, and soon there will be a ep 3 Half Life 2 episode 3 will be the last in the series, Half Life 2 Ep 1, 2 and 3 are actually Half Life 3, Valve split the game into three so that it wouldn't take them 6 to 10 years to make life Half Life 2 did
