Pythagoras and his wife, Theano, likely met in ancient Samos, Greece, where Pythagoras founded his philosophical school. Theano, who was also a mathematician and philosopher, became an important figure in Pythagoreanism and is believed to have been a student of Pythagoras before they married. Their partnership was significant both personally and intellectually, contributing to the development of their shared ideas.
Pythagoras, the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician, is primarily associated with a geocentric worldview, where Earth is considered the center of the universe. However, his followers later developed ideas suggesting a heliocentric model, where the Sun is at the center. While Pythagoras himself did not propose a heliocentric theory, his work laid the groundwork for later astronomical thought. Thus, he is mainly viewed as geocentric.
No, pi and Pythagoras are not the same thing. Pi (π) is a mathematical constant representing the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, approximately equal to 3.14159. Pythagoras, on the other hand, was an ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician known for the Pythagorean theorem, which relates the lengths of the sides of a right triangle. While both are fundamental concepts in mathematics, they refer to different ideas.
Pythagoras' mentor was Thales of Miletus, a pre-Socratic philosopher and mathematician. Thales is often regarded as one of the first philosophers in Western history and is credited with foundational contributions to geometry and astronomy. Pythagoras studied under him, gaining insights that would later influence his own philosophical and mathematical ideas. Additionally, Pythagoras was influenced by other cultures, particularly the Egyptians and Babylonians, during his travels.
Pythagoras is primarily associated with the geocentric theory, which posits that the Earth is at the center of the universe. He and his followers believed in a harmonious cosmos with the Earth surrounded by celestial bodies. While later thinkers, such as Aristarchus of Samos, proposed heliocentric ideas, Pythagoras himself did not advocate for this model. His focus was more on numerical relationships and the mathematical order of the universe rather than a specific cosmological structure.
i'd suggest rook or tragus..unless you're not opposed to having a second lobe piercing on each ear
Get your nipples pierced.
