Contrary to popular belief, weed smoke (or any type of smoke for that matter) is harmful to your lungs. Though it's not as bad as cigarette smoke, it will effect your breathing. You will increase your lung capacity. (from taking those huge bong hits lol) But your lungs' strength and ability to pump will decrease. So.... as long as you're ok with being short of breath after some brisk walking, keep on toking.
"Marijuana is just as bad as tobacco on your lungs,
-------------------
To date, there has never been a documented case of lung cancer from marijuana smoke, despite what you hear from certain anti-drug campaigns. Habitual pot smokers lungs do decrease in capacity, so its definitely bad for your lungs just as any smoke is. There is so much evidence of the dangers of smoking cigarettes, that it would be silly for me to write about it on WikiAnswers."

However, people normally don't smoke nearly as much pot as they do cigarettes. The average cigarette smoker smokes about 1 pack (20 cigarettes) each day. Even the biggest pothead on earth doesn't smoke 20 joints each day.
