Some people say that it hurt some say that it doesn't hurt well let me tell you the truth on it. No the needle does not hurt but the clamp that they use to grip your tongue will hurt. You won't really feel the needle going through it. It's not painful at all. Now for a couple days it will hurt. Your tongue will swell up. You can talk but it will sound weird. You can eat but it will hurt very badly. Just to keep it short in simple it will not hurt i've had mines for about three years now don't think about the needle at all. Here are the steps what they will do:

). rinse with listerine

). Tell you to stick your tongue out.

). Dry your tongue off

). Mark it with a marker so they will not mess it up.

). Clamp it

). Lift your tongue up to make sure its even.

). Stick the needle through.

). Put the barbell through and tighten the balls.

). rinse your mouth again then your all done.
