Kill more brain cells than what?

Alcohol causes a slow degeneration of brain cells that results in eventual cell death with chronic use. Short-term use, in moderate quantities, kills none at all. (High levels of alcohol can result in alcohol poisoning, which can easily kill every cell in your body.)

Gin has no greater effect than any other alcoholic beverage, except that it will give you a worse hangover than most.

If you are asking about gin v. marijuana, we'd have to say marijuana, since smoking it introduces many more chemicals into the body, including carbon monoxide, but we wouldn't expect brain cell death to be an issue there, either. Certainly not with moderate use.
