No, it just feels like someone accidentally clipped a barrette on your ear and then it gets hot. I got both my first and second (going for the third) done at Claires. Despite what everyone says Claires is very clean (at least where I live), they are approved, and on a few occasions I have even seen the Health Department watching them do a piercing and being quite impressed. They wear gloves, and sterilize your ears before they pierce them. They ask for parents permission before starting if you are under a certain age. Alot of them have teddy bears to hold so it doesn't hurt as much. :) then you get a little gift bag with cleaning alcohol, a coupon, and something else.

It doesn't really hurt at all. I got all of my ear piercings at Claire's and they have never gotten infected, ever. At the end they ask if it hurt and if you say yes they put a cool cloth on it, to cool it off.I agree I got my ears pierced at clairs on the 14th April 2011 and its like a hard pinch.
