Though waxy lip balms like Chapstick do not specifically dry out your lips, it is a "protectant", NOT a moisturizer. This means that it is good for protecting your lips in extreme weather conditions such as wind, surf and cold, but it should be removed when you are no longer subject to these conditions and your lips should then be moisturized. Look for products containing Vitamin E to moisturize your lips. Many products have an SPF rating to protect from sun as well. This should give you something to smile about. =o)

No, chapstick does not dry your lips. It is designed to moisten your lips. If you are having issues with dry lips try doing a lip exfoliation and then apply some good chap stick. To exfoliate mix together a table spoon of honey and about 2 spoons of sugar and rub it gently on your lips then wash off.
