Possibly. It depends on what kind of fit you want. Of course there is going to a camera hole that on that iPod all you are going to see the back silver piece. The hard case may not be fit or it may if you squeeze it. From what I have heard 3rd generations are a tad fatter.

What I assume is that you are attempting to place the inside of a 2nd generation iPod touch into a 4th generation case.

If that is the case then it is not possible, as the case was slimmed down when the 4th generation was released.

On top of that, the 2nd generation would not have the correct mechanics to operate the camera so the camera could not be used.

You might be able to install a camera in the opposite area of the antenna, but that would take a very skilledtechnician and a lot of money. It would be much cheaper and easier to instead just buy the 4th generation.
