Layaway is only offered on Jewelry at Walmart. -------------------- The person who answered above is partially correct. Walmart allows layaway in Jewelry and also in select stores they do allow layaway on special ordered guns (guns that the store does not carry in stock, but are specially ordered). Also this year 2011 walmart will have layaway starting in the middle of october for customers and the first part of october for associates (walmart employees), and will end during december before christmas. The Blitz items (day after thanksgiving sale items) will not be allowed to be put on layaway, and some stores are planning on not allowing any new items to be put on layaway that day to avoid confussion.
Starting this year 2011 walmart is bringing back layaway in oct and ending before christmas. The day after thanksgiving items (Blitz day), will not be allowed to be put on layaway.
only jewelry can be layed away year around round and how much do i have to put down to hold it every month?
Walmart is having the associates promote the walmart credit card instead. They are saying look, you can take it home and pay on it that way. I work for walmart and most people would rather use layaway and avoid the fees, including me, LOL> There were people who abused layaway, by putting an item on layaway, and then asking for extensions to see how much they might get marked down during seasonal times of the year. wwamanager@yahoo.com
No Walmart does not have layaway. -------------- Walmart starting this year will do layaway until a bit before christmas starting in the middle of october for customers (year 2011). Walmart always has layaway in the jewelry dept and on special ordered guns (select stores).
no
yes it does
Neither one of these have lawaway, at least not in Alabama. K-Mart still has layaway and has just recently aired a commerical about it knowing that their competitor Wal-Mart stopped. ------------------------------- The above answer is partially correct. Walmart does always offer laywaway on Jewelry items if you specifically ask the jewelry associate to do so. Also in select stores you can put specially ordered guns (guns that the store does not carry instock, but specially orders in-----normally requires 50% minimum down) on layaway. This year also (2011) customers in the middle part of Oct. and associates the 1st part of Oct will be able to add items to layaway (not blitz items-------day after thanksgiving sale items), until dec. (before christmas). Some stores are planning not to have any new items added to layaway on the day of Blitz to avoid confusion to customers. Let me know if you have any further questions. The holiday time is upon us and there is Christmas shopping to be done. This year is a little different, however, in the fact that many people don't have as much cash as they would like for their shopping. Credit cards could one option, but you will end up paying high interest rates and risk being in debt for several months. One thing that many people don't consider is using a department store's layaway option. This option is available to people regardless of credit or finances. Here is how most layaway plans work: You get the items that you need or desire, especially if they are on sale at that moment, and you bring them to the layaway department. You will be asked to put down a percentage of the sale, which is usually about 10% The will also charge you a small service fee. The store will hold onto your merchandise while you pay off your balance a little or a lot at a time. When you have paid the balance in full, you can then get your items. Many layaway plans will also specify a timeframe in which you have to pay your balance, and if you don't you will lose your items and get a refund of your money minus a small percentage. A Walmart layaway plan could be the perfect way to do your Christmas shopping now and get all of the great deals and store discounts going on during the holiday season. Since Walmart has the lowest prices on all of the items you want, you can do all of your shopping in one place. As with any layaway plan, the best part about it is that you can buy it now and pay for it later. It's a way to use your own cash to pay for your items without going into credit card debt. So the next time you are a little tight in the pockets this holiday season, consider using the Walmart layaway plan for all of your Christmas shopping needs.
Layaway means paying for a small percentage of the item upfront, and paying the rest in monthly installments. You will also normally be charged a small processing fee.
Currently, Kmart offers layaway year-round with the option to manage your items online. Sears also offers online management of your layaway items, even though they may not have specific school supplies like paper and pens, etc. They might be able to assist with back to school clothing.
Around $2.50NZD at this time of year, but in seson one can cost as little as $0.90NZD
