Christmas is a Christian holiday that marks the birth of Jesus Christ.
Santa Claus is a nickname for "Saint Nicholas", so that makes him a Christian saint.
If his legendary generosity helps children remember and follow the selflessness in the story of Jesus, then he is a positive addition to Christmas.
If he replaces the Christmas story, then he takes away.
You decide.
Does Santa Claus pass away? No. Neither do his elves.
The stories of Santa Claus go back to a man named Nicholas (that's why he is also called Saint Nicholas). That would mean he is mortal, but that's just my opinion.
In Spain, Santa Claus is called Papa Noel, but he does not bring toys to children like he does elsewhere. In fact, in some parts of Spain, children are told that if they are bad Papa Noel will take them away. The gift bringers of the Spanish Christmas are the Three Wise Men or Los Tres Reyes Magos. This happens on Three Kings Day- January 6th.
No, I've never heard about Santa Claus going to the bedrooms. The stories I've read say his mission is to leave presents under the Christmas tree so unless that tree is in your bedroom, he'd probably try to stay away from there so he wouldn't wake you by mistake.
This could apply to the version of (Santa Claus is coming to town) by the Crystals, on the Spector Christmas album. I like the intro, Brahms lullaby is in the background, and the voice of the lead singer is recalling an expedition and a chance encounter with Mr. Claus, then they segue into the song.
Alot of people say Santa is fake, but no one really knows the truth cause I don't even know what is right or what is wrong but even if Santa isn't real keep the Christmas spirit around and also remember don't ruin Christmas for other children by telling them Santa isn't real.:):):):):):)
Santa Claus is a Christian, albeit tenusous Christmas Custom. Japan is primarily a Buddhist nation with many sects and variants, some with a strong emphasis on Emperor Worship. Hirohito was considered to be a divine being, the Son of Heaven. ( the joke was his eyeglasses were explained away as ( spots on the sun) as there are such prominences- and they affect TV, radio, etc. For a while Sunspots was a sort of nouveau-chic term for eyeglasses, but passed out of usage. As Japan is primarily Buddhist- well there is no Santa-San so to speak. Back to the Nikon and Konica and other fine cameras.
Usually he sleeps for a long time. It takes a lot out of you to travel all around the world delivering presents to everyone. But after that, it is back to normal, preparing for the next Christmas, and maybe taking a short vacation with Mrs. Claus.
Lapland is the Northern region of Finland. Christmas is a very important holiday in Finland. Preparations begin at least a month in advance. The main holiday meal is on Christmas Eve and features foods such as ham, salmon, and rice porridge. After dinner families light a candle to remember family members who have passed away and children await Joulupukki (Santa Claus).
Well, if you were a naughty child, you could get coal in your stocking, which isn't fun and just plain messy. Also, if Santa Claus gave you chocolate and manderine oranges, and you only ate the chocolate, the oranges would be pretty gross after a couple of weeks hanging over the fireplace. Some people may argue that it takes away the true meaning of Christmas. Others might try to convince us that it just spoils the child.
All you have to do is is point to something that has to do with christmas e.g a christmas shop or sign or so on and they will run away like a bullet.
