Yes it is kept preserved in alcohol however it is a minimal amount and harmless to children and animals. Also, with children and animals, the dosage is halved as the body is smaller and hence have a lower tolerance.

Before the rescue remedy you would - traditionally- be observing a seizure, but there are special cases. During you would obviously be observing somebody saving the patient and the seizure "dying down". After the rescue remedy you would be observing some one not having a seizure. Hope this helps.
