The grips to the Hawk are disposable, so no. You would be using a different grip with its attached needle assembly per tattoo or applicable use, so this would not be something that would have to be done at all. Even if you were to not be using the Hawk and were using a traditional coil machine, stainless steel tubes have become fairly outdated in the tattooing community and there has been a movement towards using exclusively disposable tubes due to sterility issues and overall cleanliness. There are still a lot of artists that like to use stainless tubes with large grips to take away from the weight of the machine and to make it more balanced, but due to the aforementioned sterility issues, they are nevertheless being phased out by most artists.
