There have been several firearms made with identical serial numbers, and we can't tell much from a SN alone. If you can give us all markings, especially brand and model number, we can try to help.
I am looking for the same thing. I have a J. Stevens model 54 in .410 that my grandfather left me and cannot find any info on this shotgun. It is bolt action with a cocking knob on the rear of the bolt. Any info would be appreciated.
You must contact the Cody Firearms Museum
Blue Book of Gun Values will help.
Send it to Mossberg they can tell you anything you need to know about it and then some. You wont get alot out of calling them.
you need a professional appraisal
Any other markings? Is it a bolt action?
you pretty much have it
Considering the size of most pellets, there is not much of a reason for a large Bolt Action air weapon. But yes there are several bolt action pellets guns and rifles. An example is the Crosman 2240. There are several "High Powered" air rifles, PCP's, (PreCharged Pneumatic) that also use a blot action, The Benjamin Rogue 357 the Marauder and Marauder pistol all use a bolt action system. I own at least 5 or 6 bolt action air guns.
Pretty much any bolt action.

Stevens bolt-action with a cylinder.... What are all the markings on the gun? sales@countrygunsmith.net
If your Stevens is a bolt action, it is NOT a visible loader. If it has any part (perhaps the barrel) that is marked as a visible loader, that part has been replaced.
