I was a teacher for 30 years. If a teacher says to a class "I missed you", I assure you they mean it. Any teacher worth their salary loves what they do, and the kids are the best part of the job. There are teachers who would not say that to a class, or teachers who would say it but not mean it. Such people should not be teachers at all.

I think you are refferring to the collective punishment in the geneva convention. But the question here is: is keeping the class longer a punishment? ...

If by marks you mean grades then, yes, the student has every right to see their grades, however the student should do it after class or after school so the teacher doesn't say "On your time, not mine"
