If teenagers had the wisdom of aging, they'd know without a doubt that little remains in one's mind for "forever". Only what was truly important, truly beautiful, truly worthy, will be recalled. Even a mere 4 years, the duration of college, will drastically change how you view others and life. By the time a person finds a "true love" and settles down to create a family, all other 'crushes' and 'loves' will pass by the wayside.

.... And, by the time you are 50 yrs old, you'll struggle to recall his / her name, face, home address, or even the phone number you once dialed 20 times a day!

Mostly, you'll recall fondly your "First Love" and opportunities lost.

It's possible for someone to eventually move on from a crush they have had for a long time, especially if they haven't acted on their feelings or if the crush hasn't been reciprocated. However, memories of the crush may resurface from time to time.
