NO they use m24s and some old m21s. Also semiauto m16(ar15)s and handguns. SWAT uses mp5&7s and some submachineguns and m24s but i dont think they use ANYTHING CLOSE to a 50cal... that would be way too powerful. An Iraqi insurgent got shot with a barrett 50cal and his head split into three pieces. I dont think the police agencies are going to consider that as even an option. Hope it helped :)

Have to disagree- some SWAT personnel use the .50 cal. Mr. Barrett, the CEO of the Barrett rifle company, has refused to sell or service any of his rifles by any govt. agency in the state of California, due to California banning the .50 Barrett.
AFAIK, Browning didn't make any rifles in that caliber.
That's a very difficult question to answer because, of course, any caliber can kill. Smaller caliber handguns are fairly common in crime involving handguns because people believe large handguns are too diffucult to conceal. Most major police agencies in the U.S. use 9mm or .40 caliber handguns. It's also difficult to answer because information on caliber used in homicide and other crimes isn't readily available.
Any where from $300. For the basic .22 up to $800. Fot the big boy large caliber rifles
You aren't supposed to dry fire .22 rifles because they are rimfire. If you want to do this, you need to find some .22 dummy rounds.
They will investigate it, if it is reported to them as a crime. If/When they find the perpetrator or the rifles they will be used as evidence in any subsequent criminal action and then they will be returned to you.
There was never any information on the production of the Marlin model 94 by caliber in the public domain. No way to answer this.
I myself have a savage 64 semi automatic, and i lubricate it with break free oil you can find it at any sports store.
It's normally called a nightstick, but most agencies don't carry actual nightsticks any more. Most agencies carry expandable batons now.
Members of the Swedish Police Service carry any one of the Sig-Sauer P22x series of sidearms. I find no reference to any specific caliber, and the choice of caliber may be at the discretion of the individual officer.
Savage produced many .22 caliber rifles over the years. Specific information bout the rifle in question would help provide an answer.
With serial # 118840, it was made in 1914. 95 years ago.
The US Bureau of Justice Statistics regularly issues a statistical report on Local Police Departments. The most recent report was issued in 2003. As of 2003 there were more police agencies with 10-24 officers, 30 percent, than any other size.
