The flow of communication process requires a medium either analog or digital other than the human or animal communication process semiotically , orally or graphically in text or illustration. Spatially the communication flow can be linear (directional), circular, branched or structured in the path the communication flow. The flow could be direct or relayed.
I Would like to define data comunication means exchange of information between two entities. As well asI would define data communication as the transfer of information between two points, either via an analogue (sine wave) electrical signal. or digital (binary ) signal via electrical pulses or optically via light pulses. The distance over which data moves within a computer may vary from a few thousandths of an inch, as is the case within a single IC chip, to as much as several feet along the backplane of the main circuit board. Over such small distances, digital data may be transmitted as direct, two-level electrical signals over simple copper conductors. Except for the fastest computers, circuit designers are not very concerned about the shape of the conductor or the analog characteristics of signal transmission. Erlang (1878-1929) is credited with establishing the mathematical foundations of methods required to determine the amount and configuration of equipment and the number of personnel required to deliver a specific level of service. PSTN: In the 1970s the telecommunications industry conceived that digital services would follow much the same pattern as voice services, and conceived a vision of end-to-end circuit switched services, known as the Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network (B-ISDN). The B-ISDN vision has been overtaken by the disruptive technology of the Internet. The purpose of the ISDN is to provide fully integrated digital services to the users. These services fall under three categories: bearer services, supplementary services and tele-services.
Stations 4 and 2 probably have a weak signal in your area. Weak digital signals will not come in at all, unlike analog signals that come in fuzzy. A stronger or better placed antenna might pick up the stations with weaker signals.
The basic difference is that in analog modulation the modulating signal is analog signal and in digital modulation it is in digital form.

Analog means continuous transmission of data whereas digital means discrete transmission of data. In analog communications we are transmitting finite amount of data in infinite amount of information. so,there is a possibility of occurrence of noise. where as in digital we are transmitting finite amount of data in finite amount of information. so , out of these two, digital is most efficient.
