In Lok Sabha elections, members are elected by the people of India through direct election. In Legislative Assembly elections, members are chosen by the Vidhan Sabha.

By - Elections- When any one person from any legislative assembly leaves his position vacant (due to death, resignation etc.) elections for that one person will be held.- This person is so elected and remains in position for the unexpired term of the house.
