If you are asking "Can your uncle give you a handgun as a gift," it depends. It IS legal, contrary to popular belief, to give a handgun as a gift. The requirements are, both parties must be able to legally possess the gun, and it must be a legitimate gift. In other words, if a person goes and tries to buy a gun and is denied, you can't go buy a gun for that person. That is called a straw purchase. But, any person can buy a gun as a gift for any other person as long as both people meet the requirement.

Both parties must reside in the same state. If the gift is going across a state line, you must process what is called a transfer. The buyer must send the gun to a gun shop in the state the receiver lives in and the receiver must go pick it up at that gun shop.
