Specific woods can only be used once they are treated to prevent toxins from entering the body.
Wood is a porous material I would stay away from it. And who knows what chemicals they use to clean and coat the wood if this is something you must have buy them from a local source that they know or are the manufacturer.
There really isn't a "most popular" size...it's more along the lines of personal preference. What size do YOU think looks good? Use Google images to help.
No, it is not meant for medical purposes.
To put spacers in your ear lobes, first make sure your ears are clean and disinfected. Next, gently stretch your ear by slowly inserting a spacer or taper into the piercing until comfortable. It is important to be patient and not force the spacer in, as this can cause damage to your ear lobes.
Yes, they are very good at ear piercing. I highly recommend them. I just had my ears pierced there in February 2010 and they did a great job! They were super friendly and it was literally pain-free. They tell you what they are going to do, how they're going to do it, and when. They are super nice and very professional! However, Claire's pierce ears with a piercing gun (a machine which pushes a sharpened stud through the ear) which can be perfectly fine for ear lobes but is not designed for use on ear cartilage. So if you're looking for something more complex than an ear lobe piercing at standard gauge, then please find a reputable local piercer.
Nope! They only do ear piercings on the lobes and cartilage's. Nothing that requires a actually needle. Just things that they can use those disposable guns on.
Yes, you can. Most barbells made for the tongue are 14 gauge, so your ear piercing would need to be 14 gauge (much thicker than a regular earring). A labret is another option, as they are usually shorter.
No it would be best to Use non iodized sea salt in warm water,or use hydrogen peroxide
To stretch your ear lobes, you can use tapers or taping methods to gradually increase the size of your ear piercing. It is important to stretch slowly and wait several weeks between each stretch to allow your ear lobes to heal properly. Using lubrication, such as jojoba oil, can also help with the stretching process.
The people at Claire's will not pierce lips. They only pierce lobes and, at some locations, the cartilage of your ear. They use piercing guns instead of needles, and the guns cannot be used on the lip.
Just to let you know, people will take you more seriously if you say stretch instead of gauge. Obviously, your ears have to be pierced. Then you stretch up using tapers- you remove the tapers after stretching and put in plugs for long-term wear. You don't wear tapers because they thin out your lobes. You wait at least 2-3 months between each stretch from16ga to 8ga. Then you'll have to wait a while longer depending on what method you use to stretch. Once you hit 8ga, you have the option of taping. Its pretty simple, just look up the specific info on your own. Tapers aren't really effective beyond 2ga. Don't skip sizes and don't wear acrylic, wood, or bone until your lobes are completely healed. This is just basic info. Look up specific information and guidelines if you decide to go through with it.
try eBay or bodycandy.com or you can get one pair or pricey ones, and use plumbing tape to slowly gauge.
Your ear should NEVER get infected. But of course, it can. 2ga-0ga is a big stretch so your ear might just be cranky. Instead of using tapers, I would use the taping method. Its much easier on your ears and you won't tear your ear. If you just want to use tapers, I'd stop at 1ga and wait a bit before you go to 0ga.
