Verizon offers the Mifi2200, a wireless router which creates a "hotspot" for you and up to 5 users/devices. It is quick, powerful, fits into a shirt pocket and a no-brainer to setup. Other carriers may offer it as well, but at Verizon it costs about $99 to buy and $60 a month for a 5 gig maximum per month of data transfer. Usage, or lack of, does not roll forward at Verizon. It works flawlessly for me with a mix of MAC and PC devices

You will need a Wi-Fi router that will connect to your modem and your computer, which will allow your iPod Touch to access the internet through Wi-Fi.
