No way in hell, Amigo.

The .380 case is 2mm too short to make headspace in the 9mm chamber. As well, it's considered a straight-walled case & has a much smaller diameter.

But - just for argument, many 9x18mm (ie: Makarov) chambers will accept & fire .380 ammo. Not recommended, tho - as the bore is grossly oversized @ .363 (for the .380 ACP's .355 dia slug. Brass swells-up badly & becomes useless for any further reloading purposes.

Can 9mm bullet be use in 380?

The .380 ACP is also known as the 9x17mm, 9mm Short, and 9mm Kurz. It is the ONLY ammunition which can be fired through a .380 pistol. The 9x18mm Makarov (whose bullet diameter is actually 9.3mm) and the 9x19 Parabellum/Luger cartridges ARE NOT compatible.

Can you use 9mm short ammo in a browning 380 dba?

.380 ACP is simply another name for the 9x17 cartridge, also known as the 9mm Short or 9mm Kurz.

Can a 380 use 9MM bullets?

380 and 9mm projectiles are .355 in diameter _________________________ Most of the time, when people use the term 9mm, they are referring to a 9mm parabellum. A 9mm parabellum cannot be fired from a .380. The 9mm cartridge is longer. _________________________ The BULLET is the part of the cartridge that is the projectile. While 9mm parabellum and .380 ACP use the same diameter bullets, the CARTRIDGES are not interchangeable.

Can you fire a 380 in a 9mm handgun?

Depends. .380 ACP is used to refer to the 9x17 cartridge. It is not interchangeable for use in 9x18 (9mm Makarov), 9x19 (9mm Parabellum/Luger), or any other firearm designed for any cartridge other than the .380 ACP/9x17 cartridge.

Can you use a 9mm in a 380 or a 380 in a 9mm?

Assuming you're referring to the 9x19mm (also known as the 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger) and the .380 ACP (also known as the 9x17mm, 9mm Short, and 9mm Kurz), the answer is no on both counts, and it would be extremely dangerous to try this.

What does ruger 380 acp mean?

Ruger is the name of the company that made the pistol. .380 ACP is the cartridge size. ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol- part of the cartridge name, as some of the first of the .380 cartridges were made for use in Colt pistols..

What is the difference between 9MM caliber to 380 caliber?

.380 ACP is 9x17mm, while the 9mm Parabellum/Luger is 9x19mm. Additionally, the 9x19 uses heavier projectiles, and also generates higher chamber pressure, necessitating a locked breech pistol, whereas most .380/9x17 pistols use an unlocked breech.

Can you use 9mm shells for 9mmx19?

Not sure of the question. Are you talking about for reloading purposes? I wouldn't recommend stretching out shorter 9mm casings (such as 9x17/.380 ACP). You can use 9x19 casings.. the 9x19 is also known as the 9mm Luger or 9mm Parabellum. If you're talking firing another type of cartridge in a 9x19/9mm Luger/9mm Parabellum pistol, the answer is a big, resounding, no. Cartridges such as the 9x17 (a.k.a., 9mm Kurz, 9mm Short, .380 ACP) will not provide the proper headspacing, which could result in a catastrophic failure of your firearm - with the potential of injury or death to the firer - when fired. The 9x18 Makarov cartridge, likewise, is in no way compatible with a 9x19/9mm Luger/9mm Parabellum pistol.
