You will probably end up getting a lecture from the Orthodontist about how the dimple piercings could effect the saliva ducts inside your cheeks and the potential damage the piercings will cause to your teeth ( not to mention how the piercings will leave permanent scars on your face ). But once they have done that they can still do the braces, however they may make you remove the jewellery for your appointments.
Unlike other oral piercings around the mouth (lip, labret, Monroe, Madonna, Medusa and tongue) next to nothing is known about dimple piercings other than the high probability of damaging saliva ducts, deep blood vessels and nerves. Most experienced professional body piercers stay away from dimple piercings due to the high risk factors.
These risk factors should have been discussed in detail to you before you got the piercing done, if there was no discussion about the risks, then you clearly didn't see a professional body piercer. Your Orthodontist will provide more information to you about the facial structure and what other problems you may encounter in the future due to the piercings.
Why couldn't you.
hell yes it fxxkin hurts D: but do it anyway, its CUTE
As far as I know, dimples are genetic. I'm a teenager and I still have dimples.
yes they swell as i got mine peirced Friday and to day is wedsday mine are still swollen and i also had to change out the labret bars for toung rings they will get somewhat infected too this is normall healing process
Yes. it is possible. You might be in pain though. In order to make you're dimple you must poke something threw your cheek i.e. Knife, or get it pierced etc. It is more effective to get it pierced.
$30 for each side jewelry for both cheeks -$60 resizing your jewelry another $60 total is about $180
It doesn't matter what color braces you get, anyone can still tell you have braces.
You should always wait until after your braces are off to get any lip piercings because it does affect it and it is easier for them to get caught and injure yourself
Yes, you can have your tongue pierced with braces on. Orthodontists may not agree with it, but they cannot stop you, nor can they make you remove it. There really is no issue with it aside from chipping your teeth if you have it done professionally.
Yes. getting your cheeks pierced DOES LEAVE PERMANENT DIMPLES. You are warned of this before getting them done. I have had mine pierced for about 6 years, and I went an entire year without anything in them, and I had dimples even without the jewelry in. When you puncture the muscle in your cheeks, and put something in the way of that muscle mending completely (in this case a Lebret Stud) They cheek compensates for the jewelry, and heals around it, INDEED leaving permanent dimples. That's just what happens. These piercings are also one of the hardest to heal and up keep. You must always be careful when caring for oral piercings. ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE PIERCERS ADVICE!
Well, other than the painful, surgical option, you could simply get your cheeks, or non existent dimples pierced. If you leave them in long enough, it will create permanent dimples. It is a less painful and less cheaper way that cosmetic surgery. Although, dimples are a natural born defect.
This would depend on whether the allele for dimples is dominant or recessive. If the allele for dimples is dominant and the no dimples allele is recessive then the phenotype of the individual would be dimpled. If the allele for no dimples is dominant and the allele for no dimples is recessive then the dimples will not be expressed. If these alleles are codominant then the dimples will be expressed but not as much as in an individual who has both alleles for dimples.
