Sure, there would be no harm to it, and if your ears are super sensitive due to having the tapers in then it would probably be best to leave them in till they chill out. I personally am not a fan of tapers, nor is anyone that I know. They seem like a logical thing to stretch with, but they have a good tendency to tear the tissue. The best way to stretch is to get to a decent gauge, about 2G., and then do "tape wraps". For this you will use either Teflon tape, bondage tape, or in some instances electrical tape. A lot of people don't advocate electrical tape due to the adhesive residue it emits, but in a pinch, it works good. Just wrap the plug about once every week with a few layers of tape. You don't want to go too fast, because this will thin out the bottom of your ear, and may cause blowouts in the back.
You can use tapers to stretch them up but you can't wear them....for obvious reasons.
They are just tapers that react to a black light. Kind of like UV paint that glows.
Tapers aren't jewelry.. you have them in for about 10-15 minutes then change it with the plugs but don't take to long to change them. Tapers aren't made to stay in your ear for long or it will mess your ears up.
Tapers come in all different sizes. From 14g to 1 inch, But I don't suggest using tapers after 0g.
