Go to the media center then to music and sounds. Then you can record your own ringtone.
If you go into the Music and Ringtones portion of the phone, you will see a tab labeled "Sounds" and you will see that you can Record anything using the microphone built into the phone.

On a MicroSD card, the my_sounds folder IS the my ringtones. On a phone, it won't let you move songs to ringtones.
