Additives in Cigarettes

It's not even close to 4000, but here is a list of 599 ADDITIVES that are put in cigarettes. They have all been approved by the US government for use in the manufacture of cigarettes. Some are other plants or plant products and may not be harmful, but few, if any of the 599 have been tested by smoking them. Others are extremely harmful and many are known carcinogens.

This list was kept secret until it was submitted to the US Department of Health and Human Services by the five major tobacco companies in April of 1994. The tobacco companies that made the information public are: American Tobacco Company, Brown and Williamson, Liggett Group, Inc., Philip Morris Inc. and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
