Yes the bleeding experienced while taking the inactive pill is not a period, it is withdrawal bleeding caused by hormones dropping. Stopping the pill mid-pack will cause the same withdrawal bleeding.

Your periods will resume after your uterine lining starts building up and shedding - if you are not pregnant. It takes 4 to 6 weeks from the end of a packet - stopping mid cycle will cause spotting but should not delay your cycle from returning.

Is there hormonal changes after stopping depo?

After stopping any hormonal birth control method, your body experiences hormonal changes as your own natural menstrual cycle starts again. With Depo, this adjustment period may be prolonged.

Can stopping the birth control pill affect your period?

When you stop taking the birth control, your period may change in a few ways. First, it will probably get a bit heavier and crampier again, reverting to the pattern it had before you started the pill. (Since the pill makes most women's periods lighter and less crampy, stopping it removes this benefit.) Second, your period may not have the same timing it had when you were on the pill. When you stop, your next period will come in 4-6 weeks.

When do you get your period after changing from Depo-Provera to the birth control pill and stopping the pill?

It can take anywhere from days to 18 months for your period to return after stopping Depo Provera. Taking the birth control pill doesn't change that timing -- the birth control pill doesn't "jump start" or "regulate" your period after stopping Depo Provera. Remember that you can get pregnant before your period restarts, so if you don't want to conceive right now, get on an effective method of birth control.

What can I do for the side effect of stopping the pill?

There isn't anything that you can do to stop the side effects of stopping birth control pills. After stopping birth control you may most likely experience spotting or breakthrough bleeding. This is simply your body ridding the hormones out of your body. If you had irregular periods before starting the pill, you will have irregular periods again after stopping birth control.

Got off birth control at the end of April and have not had a period in a month in a half?

Depending on the type of birth control and how long you were taking it before stopping it can take up to 18 months for your cycles to return to normal. I personally was on depoprovera for 2 years after my first child and after stopping did not menstruate for 13 months afterwords. Later I went back on depo for about a year and it took six months for my periods to begin again after stopping that time. If you are sexually active you should probably take a pregnancy test every two months until your periods begin again as you will ovulate about 2 weeks before your first period and could conceive at that time without realizing it.

If you stop taking birth control and you start again can you not get pregnant?

It may take a few months to be able to conceive again, although some get pregnant very shortly after stopping birth control use. The number of times you stop/start taking birth control does not matter.

How long does the birth control pill stay in your system?

Is it safe to start taking birth control pills again after having been off for just one month and not had a period yet?

Hello, I would wait until your period arrives and then re-start taking birth control. Because you haven't had your period yet I would also perform a pregnancy test to be certain if you're pregnant or not. If your period doesn't arrive within 2 months of stopping the pill then see your Doctor for a evaluation. Please note this is advice only and should not be used in place of a Medical experts.

How long can you bleed after stopping Depo-Provera and when does your period become regular?

It depends on how long you were on the shot and what your overall health is. The longer you were on the shot, the longer it will probably take for you to get your period again. Once you get your period, it may take several months to regulate itself again. Hang in there and thing should return to normal within 6-24 months.

Will you have a normal period the first month you get off birth control?

It's very unlikely that you'd have a normal period the first month off birth control (I'm assuming by 'birth control' what you actually mean is the combination pill - please don't use these terms interchangeably, there are many forms of birth control!). Your first 'period' will be your withdrawal bleed as normal, but after that it may take a few months to get a real period again. It can also take up to 12 months for your cycles to regulate again once you stop using hormonal birth control.
