∙ 13y agoTaking birth control if you are pregnant will NOT stop the pregnancy. Birth control does not cause abortion but stops the ovaries from freeing an egg into the falopian tube and the womb. Plan B, or the morning after pill, will stop the fertilised egg from attaching itself to the endometer if taken within a certain amount of time. It has to be taken within 72 hours of the intercourse, however, and its efficacy decreases with the passing of time. Furthermore, taking the pill while pregnant could hurt the baby.
There is always a slim chance while on the pill you might get pregnant. However if you have been on the pill for at least a month and have not missed taking it you are probably not pregnant.
Most women will have their period within a week or two of stopping birth control pills, and may be fertile from the first day they stop taking it. If you have stopped taking birth control and have not had your regular period as expected, you need a pregnancy test to be sure whether you are pregnant or not.
Yes, sometmes when you start birth control you will have break through bleeding and it can tie in with your period since you started the pill during your period.
As long as you are taking your birth control pills it is very unlikely that you would get pregnant, wether you skip your period or not. Als always if you are unsure, speak to your doctor or nurse.

You shouldn't get pregnant because you were taking your birth control at the time. Though don't have unprotected sex now, because you will get pregnant. If you are still worried and think you might be pregnant take a pregnancy test.
no, if you havent had sex.
Yes, certain medications will interact with birth control rendering it ineffective. If you have started taking any antibiotics or other medications, you may be pregnant even though you were taking your birth control regularly.
You should not be pregnant when you start taking the pills as you start taking them within a week of the start of your period and if you have a period you are 99.5% sure you are not pregnant. However if you are pregnant the pills will have no effect.
It is probably a side effect of the BCP. Just keep on taking them as ordered.
