Can you find someone on Facebook if you only know their first name?

Unless their name is extremely uncommon then no if you don't know any other information. You would have to look through the hundreds or thousands of people on facebook with that same name and hopefully recognize them by their profile picture, if not then there's very little hope. I have tried to look for someone I met on a cruise in December of last year, but as hard as I've tried to find him, it hasn't worked. =(
