A "green card" is issued to immigrant aliens in the US- aka resident aliens. The holder of a green card may purchase firearms in the US. There are restrictions on NON-immigrant aliens buying firearms (they must meet certain criteria to do so) but Immigrant Aliens are treated as citizens are treated. The question asked on the form 4473 that a gun dealer must have you complete deals with Illegal Aliens, and non-immigrant aliens.
PS- my wife of 40 years is a British subject- has her green card- and has purchased firearms- and has a concealed weapons license.
