To answer shortly, no. Money, whether in the form of cash or products and services, does not promote the growth of respect in one person towards another. Instead it promotes the growth of greed, denial, and subterfuge. At no point is money in any form, going to, avoid violation of or interference with, whatever message is trying to put across somebody. Respect can only be earned. Both through hard work and honest deeds. People who try to do the right thing and strive to bring the best out in others is slowly building up respect, for the people who receive benefits from a person's actions directly, or others who observe such noble behavior. Using money and incentives is great for increasing productivity in a business or company, however, using such power in trying to sway the minds of those who think differently from one's self promotes the use of deceit and bribery. There is no honor in commiting such a selfish act, as it discourages new ideas and creative environments. Anyone doing such things is not showing character or respect for his fellow board members and workers. Finally, Respect is giving and receiving every courtesy. Behaving in a well mannered way, that does not degrade others for their own ideas. It is possible to have respect for an athletic director who wants only the best out of his/her athletes in all things sports, and yet, it is still possible to hold respect for someone as seemingly cruel as Joseph Stalin. It all boils down to, who was fighting for the greater good of his fellow man.
