I don't see any reason why not. ask your doctor first before you do. but I have three large tattoos and I got all of them long before I ever had found out that Factor V Leiden. I got one of mine touched up today and I was perfectly fine. it's not cutting deep into the skin, only touching the surface. when I was diagnosed I was also not warned against tattoos, just medications. it's all about if you want to take the risk. I am 21 years old and apparently this blood clotting disorder has been in my family for generations, no one knew about it until 3 months ago. and I had gotten my last tat at least a year before I was diagnosed. I never had problems before, I know my artist personally and very well he works in a great shop and always uses clean needles and sanitizes everything. I wouldnt worry honestly but it's never a bad idea ro ask your doctor before hand. hope that helps :)
After the age of 14 I was told, this is around the time when the blood starts to thicken in everyone, but obviously more with Factor V Leiden.
NO
A light blue-top tube with sodium citrate is typically used to collect blood for Factor V Leiden testing, as citrate is an anticoagulant that prevents blood clotting during processing.
Simply put. No. If you have Factor V Leiden, you are contraindicated for taking any estrogen...be it birth control, estrogen therapy or hormone therapy. As far as progestin only pill........my doctors have told me no for that as well.
Being heterozygous for Factor V Leiden means having one copy of the gene mutation, which increases the risk of developing abnormal blood clots. It is a genetic condition that can increase the risk of blood clots in veins, especially in situations such as pregnancy or surgery. Treatment and management strategies aim to reduce the risk of clotting events.
There appears to be no current known cure but this problem can be properly managed with the help of doctors and certain medication if taken correctly.
