Yes, your period can be late when coming off hormonal Birth Control pills.

Hormonal birth control works by suppressing your menstrual cycles so that you no longer ovulate and thus you also no longer menstruate - bleeding you experience on the pill is a withdrawal bleed caused by the drop in synthetic hormones when going from active to inactive pills. When you come off the pill your body has to regulate itself again and reestablish your menstrual cycle, it can take up to twelve months for cycles to regulate which can include late or absent periods the first three months. Remember too that your period won't come at the same time as your withdrawal bleeds.

Yes, and so can pregnancy resulting from going off the pill, so if you're at risk for pregnancy, get a pregnancy test.

Can stopping taking the pill make your period late?

Yes, but so can pregnancy.

Is it normal to start your period 4 days late then spot a week to a week and a half after your period if your on birth control?

The birth control pill can make your period lighter. "A day late" is within the norm for women on or off the pill. If you're expecting that the pill will make your period always come on a Tuesday, four weeks apart, you are likely to be disappointed. For some women the pill makes the period this predictable, but they are the exception.

Hello there. Yes a period can be delayed if you have missed some of your birth control pills.

If I just got off the pill and got my first period but now my second period is late and I have symptoms like sore breasts and mood swings and I haven't had sex what is going on?

A few things could be going on. If you were sexualy active just after going off the pill, then you could be pregnant and the first period was not a period. If you had contact of any sort or you were taken advantage of after the period, you could be pregnant. The symptoms listed could be the result of going off the pill. Do an EPT and/or see your doctor about a blood screen.

If you are not on the pill but going away and do not want to come on your period. Will your period be delayed if you start to take the pill before you are due on?

No, starting the Pill will not immediately cause a delay in your period and starting the Pill late in your cycle can cause breakthrough bleeding that can last for days or weeks. The pill will start delaying periods after taken for a full cycle, depending on the hormones and your reaction sometimes it takes a couple cycles.

If your period is late after going off the pill does that change when you ovulate?

Hi, When you stop the pill it does effect your menstrual cycle and it may be irregular for the next 3 months. If your period doesn't arrive in 7 days perform a pregnancy test. If your period changes from the date it used to arrive on before you started the pill, then this can change your ovulation date but its difficult to say.

Brown spotting while on pill but not pregnant but period is late?

It is called break through bleeding. How can it be late if you are on the pill? The pill regulates periods, if it's not doing that it is not working, perhaps you are not following the directions or the type of pill you are using is not suitable for you.
