There are some birth controls that can cause yeast infections. It can happen when starting new or switching brands. If you take meds for a yeast infection and it goes away monitor it to see if it comes back. It may be from your bc pills, if it does not come back, you are ok to continue use, if it does come back, speak with your doctor.

Can the birth control pill cause yeast infections?

Hi. No this will not cause a yeast infection. Yeast infections are very common and easily treated with over the counter Monistat or Canesten creams. Pessarys and creams are also available. Men do not have symptoms of a yeast infection like women do and because of this the infection may go un-detected and he will pass it back to you again. No. A yeast infection occurs when the natural good bacteria in a woman's vagina is unable to keep yeast in the vagina under control. This commonly happens after taking antibiotics, which kill both good and bad bacteria in the body.Expired birth control has no effect on the bacteria or yeast content in the vagina.

Can stress ans lack of sleep cause thrush?

No, stress will not cause a yeast infection.A yeast infection is an overgrowth in yeast, given as we are in the women's health section of this web site I will assume we're talking about vaginal or vulva yeast infections. The female genitals naturally contain yeast which are kept under control by an acidic pH inside the vagina and by 'good' bacteria that produce hydrogen peroxide to kill excessive yeast. Stress will not change your vaginal flora so in turn stress will not cause a yeast infection.
