I would not advise this rechambering.The steels of this time were not of the same quality that are found today.The added chamber pressure generated by the .22 WMR cartridge could cause your model 1890 to blow up.I would also add that the value of these model 1890 pump action 22 caliber rifles is substantial especially if your rifle has alot of its original finish remaining.
