no. it cannot.
they had this question in Mythbusters, because, in the movies are often gas stations that explode through a cigarette thrown in petrol. It simply would be extinguished. whats dangerous with petrol are the gasses, they can be ignitet really fast.
Not an experiment to try lightly, but usually a cigarette will not ignite gasoline as you see in the movies. An open flame is usually required. This doesn't mean that you should smoke and handle gas at the same time since sometime a cigarette will ignite gasoline.
Anything hot can ignite gasoline, but only the vapor form will combust. So in most cases, a lit cigarette thrown into a pool of gasoline will be extinguished by the liquid. However, ignition of the vapors can occur far from the actual liquid, so for this reason smoking around gasoline is extremely hazardous.
You're on the right tracks, but not quite. Carbon Monoxide is the gas that comes out of a vehicle's exhaust (Which of course you need fuel for this to happen). This gas is also added to many known cigarette products.
If the cigarette is just burning normally, no. But if there is an impurity that causes a tiny spark, there could easily be ignition if the mixture of gasoline vapor and air is just right.
If they're still burning they can catch other things on fire.
No
This is the temprature in which the petrol will ignite.
A cigarette is the entire object. The cigarette butt is what is left over after you smoke it.
The petrol holder could leak and a spark could ignite it. The hot exhaust pipe could also cause petrol to ignite.
Helium is not flammable. However, the cigarette might puncture the balloon.
The end of a cigarette, or the cigarette butt in America.
The fuel will not ignite properly.
petrol is the same as gas for one. and two because it has a low combustion point making it easier to ignite. petrol is the same as gas for one. and two because it has a low combustion point making it easier to ignite.

Straight-chain hydrocarbons ignite very easily; in a vehicle, they would ignite before they reached the engine. Branched hydrocarbons are not as reactive so they are used for fuel such as petrol.
The goat will butt you out the way.Scoot your butt over a bit would you?Dropping your cigarette butt on the floor is littering, which is an offence that will get you fined.
Petrol or diesel probably. Or gas could. Depends.
Diesel engines work in a different way to petrol in that they work on pressure to ignite warm diesel as opposed to petrol engines which have spark plugs. in order to work, there can be no air, air wont ignite!!
