NO!! Although the bullet diameter is the same, the case length is different and should not chamber in the 380 caliber handgun.

Can 380 bullet fired in 9mm?

I'm assuming you're asking if a .380 round can be fired in a 9mm handgun. The answer is, yes, it may be possible, but it is not a good idea to fire any cartridge in a gun other than the correct caliber for that specific gun.

Can you shoot a 9mm bullet from a 380 handgun?

9mm and 380 both use bullets with a diameter of .355. But the answer to the question you're probably asking is, no, you cannot fire a 9mm parabellum cartridge from a .380 handgun. The 9mm cartridge is different than the .380 cartridge. Even though both are 9mm in diameter, the overall cartridge lengths are different.

Can you use a 9mm magazine with a 380 handgun?

Usually not. The 9mm Parabellum catridge is longer than the .380, as a result, a 9mm magazine is also bigger, and the magazine will not fit in the .380 magazine well.

Can you use 9mm in a 380 handgun?

It depends on what you mean. 380 is the same as 9x17, but if you mean standard 9mm, that is 9x19. It's too long and too high pressure to use in a .380.

How powerful is a 380 handgun?

The .380 typically has 200-230 pounds of muzzle energy, which is about half the power of a typical 9mm.

Can a 380 caliber clip be used in a 9 mm handgun?

No. Generally speaking, you can only use the correct caliber magazine for any given handgun, and .380 and 9mm are not interchangeable.

Can a 380 use 9MM bullets?

380 and 9mm projectiles are .355 in diameter _________________________ Most of the time, when people use the term 9mm, they are referring to a 9mm parabellum. A 9mm parabellum cannot be fired from a .380. The 9mm cartridge is longer. _________________________ The BULLET is the part of the cartridge that is the projectile. While 9mm parabellum and .380 ACP use the same diameter bullets, the CARTRIDGES are not interchangeable.

Can a 9mm bullet work in a .380 gun?

9mm and 380 both use bullets with a diameter of .355. However, the cases are a different size. .380 is also known as .380 auto, 9mm Kurtz, 9mm Corto, 9mm short or 9x17. 9mm typically refers to 9x19mm also known as 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger. You cannot fire a 9mm Parabellum cartridge from a .380 handgun. The 9mm cartridge will not fit into the chamber of the gun. However, if you were to pull the bullet out of the .380 case and put it into a 9mm Para case the resulting cartridge will work just fine.

Can a 380 be fired from a Glock 9mm?

DO NOT TRY TO DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you do, you will risk injury and weapon damage.

Can you fire a 9mm cartrige out of a 380 auto handgun?

There are several types of 9mm cartridges. .380 ACP is the commercial designation in English/Imperial system countries for the 9x17 cartridge (also known as the 9mm Short, and 9mm Kurz). This is the only cartridge which is to be fired from a weapon chambered for it, and other 9mm rounds are notinterchangeable. This includes the 9x18 Makarov, 9x19 Parabellum, 9x23 Largo, etc..380 pistols typically use an unlocked breech, which can be done given the generally low chamber pressure produced by the .380/9x17 cartridge. Now, a 9mm Parabellum cartridge would probably not even chamber in a .380, but, if it did and was fired, the considerably higher chamber pressure produced by that round could destroy the gun and cause serious injury to the operator.

Can you shoot a 380 caliber bullet from a 9mm handgun?

Wrong! Yes, I fired a 380 round out of my buddies ruger 9mm. Yes, it fired ok. but bent the firing pin. unless you are in all out war, do not do the same! 1 shot only! ************* Both the 9mm Parabellum and the .380 headspace on the case mouth, since they are rimless catridges. IF a .380 catridge is held by the extractor it MAY fire, but as the previous poster noted, not safely. It may do a lot more damage than just bending a firing pin. Bad headspace can break the slide.

Will a 9mm gun shoot a 380 bullet?

9mm and .380 bullets are the same diameter. In fact, .380 is also called 9mm Kurz(short) or 9x17. However, the caliber commonly called 9mm is 9x19, which means the cases are different size. A .380 cartridge will fall down into the chamber and the firing pin will not reach the primer. So, a .380 bullet can be fired from a 9mm gun if it were loaded into a 9mm case. A .380 cartridge would fail to fire in a 9mm gun.
